Burbank teaming up with craft brewer to create new event space
The project would demolish an existing 70,000-square-foot warehouse at 10 West Magnolia Boulevard and replace it with a new event space and food and drink complex designed by House and Robertson.
Called Burbank Common, it would hold a 33,000-square-foot event space for “events ranging from conferences to roller derby tournaments,” says a city website for the project.
Complementing the event space, there would be 19,000 square feet of restaurants, including a “brewpub,” though our pals at Eater hear it’ll be a full-on, working brewery. A brewpub makes sense considering West Magnolia is helmed by Tony Yanow, the owner of Burbank’s beloved Tony’s Darts Away and Echo Park’s Mohawk Bend, says the Burbank Leader.
The site will also have over 45,000 square feet of outdoor space where people could eat or lounge. Renderings show trees, landscaping, and a big retro sign atop the new complex.
The city will retain ownership of the property once the project is finished, but Burbank Common will be operated by Yanow and the Artisanal Brewers Collective, his restaurant group, says the Leader.
